David performs with Jazz and the Silver Screen – 2nd April 2016

Jazz and David guests with innovative violinist and arranger Roger Young, returning in style to the Melbourne Recital Centre on April 2nd with “Jazz and the Silver Screen”.   Two shows, one at 6pm and again at 8pm.  Tickets and more information here.

The project delves into the vast wealth of music that started life on the big screen, featuring works that are regarded as jazz ‘standards’ today, as well as interesting and eclectic selections from film scores interpreted through the vernacular of jazz.

Roger brings some of the most memorable music to life from films such as West Side Story, An American in Paris, Round Midnight, O Brother, Where art Thou? and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Accompanying him on the journey will be an eight piece ensemble of some of Melbourne’s finest musicians from the world of musical theatre, jazz and the classical concert hall. The concert will feature composers such as Gershwin, Bernstein, Monk and Ellington.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre and The Artful Roger
